I'm about 14 here, with my friend Kathy and two iguanas and a yellow rat snake.
These are dolls and toys I’ve made or collected since I was little. One of my favorites is Frog Barbie –she is the same size as a Barbie Doll, and can wear all the same clothes, only she is made of wire, with cotton padding and covered in green felt.
Lindsay Barrett George is my friend and an author-illustrator of marvelous picture books that feature animals. She got me to write a picture book about a boy and a rhinoceros iguana. (It is still in progress.) Lindsay took this photo of Sebastian and me.
That's me at 16, with Lizzie.
In Belize, with a Morelet's crocodile. We let him go right after the picture was taken.
That's Emo in his sunning cage on the deck. Emo hatched with only a stump of a tail and he is blind in his left eye. He is a sweetie, very active (he does laps around the downstairs of the house), and he LOVES to eat. He is getting big --about 16 pounds here.
I was around 14 when I embroidered these snakes and spiders on my clothes.
Spot, Socks, Binx, and me about 15 years ago.
Me, ten years old.
He's an eagle ray, like the ones Clarice and Timothy see in BLUE IGUANA.
